Circle plakhta

The Circle plakhta was created as part of our original project “Malevich’s Circle.”
In his autobiography, Malevich enthusiastically wrote about his childhood, much of which he spent in Ukrainian villages. Primitive folk art, everyday objects, clothing, and landscapes all had a significant influence on his later work.
We imagined what his version of traditional Ukrainian embroidery and a skirt might have looked like — and thus the “Malevich’s Circle” project was born.
